Use Cases

In total four Use Cases (UC1 – UC4) were defined for EUREKA Test.EPS:

UC 1: Certification of a VVALET PARKING driving function

The goal of the Use Case is to pave the way towards a Certification of a Valet Parking Driving Function. This shall be achieved by testing relevant scenarios (i.e., Entering, Re-Parking, Exiting …) from latest standards in simulation and in a parking garage.

As example, the entering maneuver is shown in the Figure below. Starting from the vehicle drop-off, the vehicle performs an automated parking maneuver within a garage, reacts to other vehicles, reparks if needed and can be collected by the driver at the drop-on.

UC 2: Testing of regulation compliance for an ALKS in an AUT/HU ODD

The target of this Use Case is to demonstrate the virtual validation of requirements of ALKS in a validation (simulation) tool chain by integrating KoPilot as an integrated module as legal compliance monitor. The KoPilot program translates a regulation to technical specifications. This is done to assure that the technical driving functions are in compliance with the country-specific regulations in AUT and HU.

UC 3: Virtual Methods and Datasets for EPS

For safe and reliable automated mobility, it is crucial to understand the whole driving scenario and environment provided by the vehicle perception system. An evaluation of the vehicle perception is still a challenging task. To provide methods out of the project, it is planned to improve the interplay between Static Ground Truth (SGT) data, Dynamic Ground Truth (DGT) data and sensor model features used for Virtual Testing of the AD/ADAS functions. In addition, suitable evaluation metrices are investigated within the project.

UC 4: PERCEPTION Verification

In addition to the defined ALKS test cases, based on UNECE R157, specific EPS related corner test cases from expert knowledge are added to the test catalogue. Real world tests are done to verify ADF systems of a system under test. These tests will be done on public roads in HU and AT as well as on proving grounds.
