New Point Cloud Lidar Model Toolbox, LiMOX, developed

A collaborative effort between Virtual Vehicle Research GmbH, Joanneum Research – Digital Twin Lab, and Infineon Technologies Austria AG has resulted in the development of LiMOX, an advanced point cloud lidar model toolbox.

LiMOX utilizes ray tracing and the NVIDIA OptiX engine to generate precise point clouds categorized by material classes. Its unique reflectivity-driven range handling, incorporating infrared material measurements, ensures exceptionally accurate results.

Published in MDPI, the paper titled “LiMOX – A Point Cloud Lidar Model Toolbox Based on NVIDIA OptiX Ray Tracing Engine” signifies a significant leap forward in lidar simulation capabilities, promising more realistic virtual environments.
